A simple Trick for Getting Dressed
A guest post today from my wickedly talented and smart BFF Emi that I am going to try my best to implement this year.
I heard President Obama say in an interview one time that he only wears grey or blue suits in order to pare down the decisions he has to make in a day.
Although I haven’t quite narrowed it down to that strict a formula, for the past year, I’ve been keeping an album on my phone of outfits I feel good in. When I’ve found that an outfit has treated me well that day- comfortable, easy, put together and stays tucked, I snap a pic.
This makes dressing/ packing for a trip a breeze. I have a hot weather album and cold weather album, and when I’m needing some inspiration in the morning, I’ll just open the album.
Remember in Clueless when Cher is picking out her outfit on that computer program? Basically that. P.S. Bonus points for being able to analyze shapes & colors that you feel good in again & again for smarter shopping.
This past fall I received many texts and emails from Emi to review outfit choices. She was on a major press and 'for your consideration' tour for the documentary she had produced, Oklahoma City, and what she wore on stage for q&a's was something we both put a lot of thought into.
Emi lives in Brooklyn with her husband Steve and their cat Nicky.
thx Emi!
