Five things from August

ok, I am just a little bit in denial that it is already September…

September 8th, how is this happening!? Really though, I am two ways about it. One part yessss… get this year over with, get us to the election, move forward, progress, progress, progress. But the other part SLOW DOWN!!! I love summer… how can there only be that many days til the election!?!

Because I still have summer on the brain I am sharing five things from August that made me smile, made me think or made things easier.

  1. This Ganni Dress feels like the right thing to wear if you are all of the sudden a hip and happy kindergarten teacher, right? I am an unabashed Ganni fan girl.

  2. I tend to listen to a podcast while I run. I am sure this makes me go slower but it gets me out the door. I get my mind off my pace of distance and into the topics discussed. Recently I binged Nice White Parents which was a great primer as we enter kindergarten and the public school system. It was thought provoking and a great reminder of how race and socio economics play into schools and education. As a product of public schools there are things that definitely are reminiscent of dinner conversations between my parents, both educators, as it pertains to the inequality and entitlement of some parents.

  3. Learning how to make Mike approved iced lattes at home. My fave mylk continues to be ‘latte da’ by Milkadamia. Plus it is just fun to say ‘la de da’.

  4. A mask with a leash… I am sure there is a more official name for these but this is what I call them, They have a tendency to look like halter tops or bikini tops when I forget I am wearing them around my neck ‘casual’ like. The pack I got comes with 4 different masks, 2 for me and 2 for Mike.

  5. The show Better Things on Hulu. We are on season 4 and taking it slow. Recently I realized that the protagonist Sam, pre menopausal working actress and single mom to three, is the type of woman I kinda figured I would end up being like when I was younger. Def reco if you wanna know what teenage me thought I would grow up to be like!

Ok, I recognize this is actually more like ‘five links’ than just five things. I hope you can explore, dive in and discover or learn something new. As always please let me know what you think about these five things or share something that has been making things easier for you right now too.
